Sacrificing Starlight Book Tour

Hi guys

I was asked to read and review Sacrificing Starlight by David Pipe as part of a blog tour by Rachel’s Random Resources – and my computer decided to eat my review!  It is such a shame as I thought this was a 5 star read – I just can’t do the book justice as I haven’t got my original review and I read the book a while back.  I’m so sad – it was a fast paced thriller with brilliant plotting and characters.  I would definitely recommend to all you thriller fans out there.  Here is some information on the book should you want to take a look:

Sacrificing Starlight

Time’s running out for DCI Hunter. His wife and child are missing, perhaps even dead. Unable to pursue those responsible he’s transferred to the wild landscape of Cornwall where another child has disappeared.  Alice Trevelyan’s father has his own agenda and wants retribution for the loss of his little girl and metes out his own violent justice.

Will Trevelyan help or hinder?

Hunter has to make his move if he wants to save Starlight.

But can anyone in this remote location be trusted?

I mainly read thriller, cosy mystery, Young Adult and romantic comedies, although this is by no means an exhaustive list.  I am willing to give most things a go, within reason, and do not shy away from trying new books.  However, please be prepared for my honest opinion, I have no problem with saying that I did not enjoy a book for whatever reason.  Please note, all opinions in this blog are purely my own and I try not to be too nasty (no promises though)

If you have any questions about me personally, you can find more information in the "About me" section, or you can follow me on my socials.  I try to interact with any followers I may have in order to share my love of books and the written word.

I have a scoring system for each book, looking at the following and giving a rating out of five stars which is then averaged out to give an overall score of the book:

  • Writing style - how engaging I found the book, how well written it was and whether there were any spelling or grammatical errors
  • Plot - How much I enjoyed the story
  • Characters - looking at the main characters of the story and whether I enjoyed reading about them
  • World building - How well the author invites me into the world they have created in the pages of their book.

I always try to be respectful when looking at a book as I recognise that the author has worked incredibly hard on their book and therefore deserves to be taken into consideration, even if I personally don't like it.  With that in mind, please note that whilst you are entitled to disagree with the opinions you find within these pages, if at any point you get personal to either me or other commentators you will be blocked from this site.

Otherwise, I hope you enjoy your stay.
